Terms of Service

Last updated: May 18, 2026

This is a working public draft prepared for early MacBaram sales review and checkout approval. It will be updated as product implementation, support process, and legal review become final.

1. Product

MacBaram is a local-first macOS system utility for observing and managing heat, fan behavior, battery charging, sleep, display, and diagnostic evidence on supported Macs. MacBaram is not distributed through the App Store and may be provided as a direct download, DMG, or PKG installer.

2. Local System Components

Some features require a local privileged helper or root LaunchDaemon, currently referred to as macbaram-node. The local component performs system tasks such as fan control, battery charging control, sleep policy handling, restore-to-macOS-default operations, and diagnostic event recording. MacBaram Cloud does not directly control your fan, battery, sleep, or display state.

3. Trial and Paid Plans

MacBaram may offer a 5-day Free Trial starting from the first app run time in UTC. During the trial, paid features may be available for evaluation. When the trial expires, paid features are locked unless you choose a paid plan. The trial does not automatically charge you. Paid plans are activated only when you manually complete checkout through the payment provider.

4. Safety Restore and SCRAM

MacBaram is designed so that license failures, trial expiration, app shutdown, and heartbeat expiration do not block safety restore behavior. SCRAM and macOS default restore paths may remain available even when paid features are locked.

5. No Hardware Warranty

MacBaram helps users observe and manage Mac operating conditions. It does not guarantee lower temperatures, longer battery life, longer fan life, damage prevention, uninterrupted jobs, reduced downtime, repair coverage, or AppleCare replacement. Results can vary by Mac model, macOS version, permissions, power adapter, dock, cable, workload, and hardware condition.

6. User Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining backups, using appropriate power adapters and cables, reviewing permissions, and deciding whether MacBaram is appropriate for your environment. Do not rely on MacBaram as the only safety measure for critical work.

7. Updates and Changes

MacBaram is under active development. Features, plan names, pricing, availability, and policies may change. We will update this page when material terms change.
